Assessing Bhola Singh’s performance as Bulandshahr’s MP

A ground-level survey of the Bulandshahr parliamentary constituency was conducted by India News to analyse the performance of Bhola Singh, the Member of Parliament from Bulandshahr, and to gather voters’ feedback about him. Bhola Singh is an Indian politician from Shikarpur, Bulandshahr district belonging to Bhartiya Janata Party. He contested and was elected in 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Bulandshahr (Lok Sabha constituency) as BJP candidate. Bhola Singh, a youth leader associated with the BJP’s Scheduled Caste Morcha, has carved a distinct identity. Considered close to the party’s high command, he is actively advancing in his political career. Recently appointed as in-charge for Rajasthan elections, he aims to become a popular public figure.
The Bulandshahr Lok Sabha seat, significant since 1952, was initially Congress-dominated until 1971. Recent years saw BJP dominance, with around 20 lakh voters. Proximity to Delhi accelerates regional development. Notably, development-oriented voting prevails over caste considerations. Despite challenges, the area witnesses a promising pace of development, showing a shift from traditional electoral influences.
The 2024 general elections are particularly significant for the Bulandshahr Lok Sabha seat. Before the elections, the public here will surely evaluate the performance of their Member of Parliament. India News is also conducting an accurate survey to assess the performance of the MP, presenting the opinions of the public before the nation.
In terms of parliamentary presence, the number of questions asked, MP fund utilisation, and special contributions, Bulandshahr’s MP Bhola Singh has received a rating of 1 out of 0.90, which is approximately 90%, indicating an excellent performance.
Parliamentary performance holds little significance during elections; the real measure is what the constituents think about their MP on the ground. India News conducted a survey, asking questions to the people of the Bulandshahr Lok Sabha constituency. The respondents provided open and candid answers after conversations with thousands of people. India News allocated 70% attention to the assessment of this survey. Based on this 70%, 7 out of 10 marks were assigned. Our calculations are also based on these 7 points. So, let’s see the outcome.
The people of Bulandshahr Lok Sabha constituency have openly answered our six questions. Most believe that the MP is doing good work in the area, but they desire more focus on local development. While satisfied with the MP’s performance, they wish to see increased local involvement. In terms of voting preferences, the majority favors NDA and appreciates the Modi government’s initiatives, including the benefits of central schemes. Despite some concerns and unfulfilled promises, the constituents rate their MP, Bhola Singh, at 3.99, indicating above-average satisfaction, though less than 60%. This analysis is based on responses from approximately 57% of the surveyed population, which is higher than the average.
In the India News survey, questions were posed to the people of Bulandshahr Lok Sabha constituency, specifically about the MP’s ground performance. Our analysis, representing 10% of the survey, rates ground performance on a scale of 1 to 10. The result reveals that, based on ground performance, the constituents are giving MP Bhola Singh a mere 0.31 out of 1, indicating satisfaction at only 31%, which is below average.
The results of our survey on social media are also being presented to you. Social media was analyzed on a scale of 1 to 10, representing 10% attention. In the social media survey, the MP is receiving a score of 0.33 out of 1, which is below average, indicating that only 33% of the public on social media favors the MP from Bulandshahr Lok Sabha constituency.
The work done in Parliament, including attendance, the number of questions asked, utilization of MP funds, and special contributions, earned the MP a score of 0.90 out of 1. On the basis of ground performance, a score of 0.31 out of 1 was obtained. In the social media survey, a score of 0.33 out of 1 was received. According to our ground survey, the MP scored 3.99 out of 7. Combining all these scores, MP Bhola Singh receives 5.53 out of 10. The voters are not entirely convinced of the work done by the MP, and many remain confused. Under these circumstances, some are unlikely to vote for him. It seems more likely that the voters want change and a more proactive representation in the house, and hence, the MP has failed.
