State govt will probe irregularities in JJM scam: Minister Kanhaiya Lal

On Wednesday, Public Health Engineering Minister Kanhaiya Lal said in the Assembly, that the state government will investigate the irregularities in the scheme and take strict legal action against those found guilty in the Jal Jeevan Mission scheme. He said that it has been reviewed by the present state government for the last 20 days.

The Public Health Engineering Minister was replying to the supplementary questions asked by the member in this regard during the Question Hour. He said that the contractors involved in this corruption will also be blacklisted and recovery will be started from them.
He further added, “A complaint was received regarding alleged fake and fabricated work completion certificates of M/s IRCON International Limited, a Government of India undertaking, in the tenders by M/s Shriganpati Tubewell Company Shahpura and M/s Shree Shyam Tubewell Company Jaipur.”

Kanhaiya Lal said, “In this sequence, by order dated 24th June 2023, the Government Deputy Secretary, PHED, Rajasthan formed an inquiry committee and stopped all types of payments immediately till the inquiry report is received and a competent decision is taken on it. Those works have been banned and orders have been issued to Under Block Behrod, payment and implementation of 03 works (31 schemes of 37 villages) ordered to M/s Shri Ganpati Tubewell Company Shahpura and 01 work (03 schemes of 03 villages) ordered to M/s Shri Shyam Tubewell Company Jaipur were also stopped.”

The Public Health Engineering Minister said that a case has been filed in the District Judge, Jaipur by both the sensors against the above orders of the Deputy Secretary of Government. In compliance with the decisions passed by the court in the above-filed suits, by the order issued by the Deputy Secretary of Government on July 28, 2023, amending the earlier order issued on June 24, 2023, a moratorium has been imposed on all types of payments due from both the contractors as per the rules of advance.
