The state government has issued guidelines to prevent student suicides in the coaching hub, Kota. The state government had constituted a 15-member committee under the chairmanship of Education Secretary Bhavani Singh Detha. From now on, students will not be given admission to coaching institutes before class 9th, and the responsibility of reducing the mental pressure of the students has been given to the coaching institutes.
The Rajasthan government has issued these guidelines to the coaching centres running in many cities of the state, including Kota. It will be mandatory to give one and a half days weekly holiday in institutions across the state. It is also proposed to keep everything favourable between children and teachers. The presence of parents has been made necessary in counselling. While giving children the opportunity to choose the career of their choice, they will also have to be given various options. Only those students can be admitted to the coaching centre who have adequate seating facilities in the classroom. In the suggestions given by the Expert Committee, such points have been fixed, which if followed can reduce the stress of studies in children. While preparing the report, detailed discussions were also held with the operators of many coaching centres on behalf of the experts.
