The impasse between the dissenting cadre of revenue personnel, specifically patwaris and kanungos, and the Haryana government endures, with the initial round of discussions on Monday yielding no resolution. The delegation representing the revenue staff has communicated their intent to sustain the strike until Wednesday. However, they have expressed willingness to engage in further discourse.

The patwaris and kanungos have been on strike since Jan 3. As a result, the works related to registration of properties, attestations, verifications and preparation of various revenue reports have been affected in the state.

The agitating revenue staffers are demanding an increase in pay grade and removal of pay anomalies with effect from 2016. They also want that recruitment of revenue staffers should not be made under the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam and instead, they should be employed through the Haryana Staff Selection Commission. The delegation of the Patwar and Kanungo Association headed by Jaiveer Chahal on Monday met additional chief secretary (finance) Anurag Rastogi and discussed removal of anomalies and correction of salaries with effect from 2016.
