SRH Hit Record IPL Score with 277/5 against MI

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) achieved the highest score ever recorded in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL) during their game against Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Wednesday.

The Hyderabad-based team surpassed Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) milestone to claim the record for the highest total in the T20 tournament. On Wednesday, aided by Heinrich Klaasen, Abhishek Sharma, and Travis Head, SRH amassed 277/3 in their innings against the Mumbai Indians. Previously, RCB held the record with a score of 263/5.

Meanwhile, Klaasen and Markram also achieved the highest partnership score for the fourth wicket or below for the Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL. The pair, Klaasen and Markram, forged an unbeaten partnership of 116 runs on Wednesday.

MI skipper Hardik Pandya won the toss and elected to field first, opting to ask the hosts, SRH, to bat at Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

Opening batsmen Mayank Aggarwal and Travis Head took to the crease. Both players adopted an aggressive approach right from the beginning of the innings. They constructed a brisk partnership of 45 runs in just 4 overs before Mayank fell victim to Hardik on the first ball of the innings, managing to score 11 runs.

Following Mayank’s departure, Abhishek Sharma joined Travis Head at the crease. Together, they forged a blistering partnership of 68 runs off just 23 balls. Head was eventually dismissed after a brilliant innings, scoring 62 runs off 24 balls, featuring nine boundaries and three sixes.

Markram came in to support Abhishek after Head’s dismissal. The duo displayed remarkable batting, combining for a partnership of 48 runs in just 19 balls before Abhishek was eventually dismissed following a splendid innings, scoring 63 runs off just 23 balls, including seven sixes and three boundaries.

After Abhishek’s dismissal, Klaasen entered the fray to bat alongside Markram. The pair then crafted an unbroken partnership of 116 runs from just 55 deliveries. Markram and Klaasen remained at the crease, propelling Hyderabad to a formidable total of 277/3 at the conclusion of the 20th over.
