World Awaits India vs Pakistan Clash, Says Avesh Khan’s Father

As anticipation builds for the highly awaited India vs Pakistan showdown, Ashique Khan, father of pacer Avesh Khan, emphasized the global excitement surrounding the match. “Not just Indians but the whole world waits for the India vs Pakistan match,” Ashique Khan stated ahead of Sunday’s T20 World Cup 2024 encounter at New York’s Nassau County International Cricket Stadium.

The historic rivalry between India and Pakistan promises high emotions and an electrifying atmosphere as fans from both nations fill the stands. Despite India’s superior batting lineup, the nature of an India-Pakistan game means records hold little weight. With the pitch expected to favour fast bowlers, a closely contested, low-scoring game is anticipated. Historically, India leads Pakistan 6-1 in their T20 World Cup meetings.

Ashique Khan expressed confidence in India’s victory, saying, “India also won earlier and India will win today too.” His son, Avesh Khan, was recently added to India’s T20 World Cup reserved player squad following his stellar performance in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, where he took 19 wickets for the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in 15 innings.

Proudly reflecting on Avesh’s achievement, Khan added, “It is a matter of great joy that Avesh is with the team and it is a matter of pride for Indore and our country.”

The previous T20 World Cup saw India secure a dramatic victory against Pakistan at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in 2022, thanks to Virat Kohli’s remarkable performance. This time, Pakistan aims to bounce back from a surprising defeat to the USA in Dallas and secure their first win of the competition.

In addition to the cricket excitement, Ashique Khan also extended his congratulations to Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi for securing a third consecutive term. The BJP-led NDA won 293 seats in the recent Lok Sabha elections, ensuring Modi’s continued leadership. “Today is Modi’s swearing-in ceremony; it is a historic moment for us,” he remarked.
