Virat Kohli is one of the biggest stars in international cricket, and the spotlight is never far behind him wherever he goes on to the field. The India-Australia semi-final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 was no exception.
No sooner had Australia lost their opening batsman Travis Head’s wicket than Kohli treated the jam-packed Dubai International Cricket Stadium to an unscheduled bhangra. The moment, captured by cameras, has since gone viral on social media, with fans enjoying the star batter’s exuberant celebration.
Kohli’s Dance Breaks the Internet
The viral clip of Kohli’s bhangra moves has taken over social media, with fans showering love on the former India captain. Kohli’s energy and passion for the game are well known, and this lighthearted moment further endeared him to supporters.

Australia Wins Toss and Bats First
Australia had won the toss earlier and decided to bat. They replaced Matt Short with Cooper Connolly and Spencer Johnson with Tanveer Sangha in their playing XI.
As of writing, Australia was at 54/2 in eight overs, having lost Connolly and Travis Head. Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne were in at the crease, hoping to steady the innings.
Kohli Achieves Another Milestone
Apart from his lively dance, Kohli had another cause to celebrate. By taking the field for this game, he became just the third Indian cricketer, following MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar, to play 50 ODIs against Australia. Rohit Sharma is not far behind with 46 ODIs, while Ravindra Jadeja has played 45 matches against the Aussies.
