Virat Kohli became fastest player to complete 25,000 runs

On Sunday, during the second Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, India’s star batter Virat Kohli completed his 25,000 international runs and became the fastest player to achieve the milestone. He became World’s sixth batsman to achieve 25,000
international runs.
Adding another historic milestone in his carrier, Virat Kohli surpassed a few great names, and his idol and Master Blaster, Sachin Tendulkar, reached this milestone in 577 matches. On the other hand, Virat Kohli became the only player who reached this mammoth milestone in 549 matches. Following Virat Kohli and Sachin Tendulkar, there are a few great names on the list including, Ricky Ponting (588 matches), Jacques Kallis (594 matches), Kumar Sangakkara (608 matches), and Mahela Jayawardene (701 matches).
In addition, Virat Kohli has scored 25,012 runs in 492 matches and 549 innings at an average of 53.35. He has scored 74 centuries and 129 half-centuries in international cricket, with his best carrier figure of 254* against South Africa in 2019-2021.
In ODIs, Virat has made 12,809 runs in 271 matches at an average of 57.69, in which he smashed 46 centuries and 64 half-centuries with his best score of 183 against Pakistan in 2011/12.
In T-20I, he smashed 4,008 runs at an average of 52.73, in which he smashed 1 ton and 37 half-centuries.
These statistics make him the fastest player to complete the milestone.
On the third day of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, Kohli came to the crease after KL Rahul went back into the pavilion. Virat Kohli smashed some beautiful fours and cleared his intentions of wrapping up the match early. But, when he looked set on the pitch, Todd Murphy gave a breakthrough to his team and got Virat Kohli’s wicket. Murphy sent Kohli back at 20 runs of 31 balls.
For now, India is leading the four-match Test series 2-0.
