The UAE national women’s sailing team delivered an outstanding performance at the first-ever Arab Women’s Sailing Championship, concluding on Saturday in Manama, Bahrain. Competing against eight teams, the UAE claimed four medals, securing the top spot in the overall rankings.

Marwa Al Hammadi led the charge, clinching two gold medals, while Kamelia Al Qubaisi and Madiya Al Neyadi each earned a silver medal, showcasing the team’s skill and determination.

Mohammed Abdullah Al Obaidli, Secretary-General of the UAE Sailing and Rowing Federation, praised the team’s remarkable accomplishment. He attributed their success to the tireless efforts of the federation under the guidance of Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, as well as the effective collaboration and coordination with marine clubs.

“The dedication and teamwork displayed by our athletes exemplify the progress of UAE sailing on the international stage,” Al Obaidli said.

The championship was hosted by the Bahrain Maritime Sports Association in partnership with the Arab Sailing Federation, providing a platform for women sailors from across the Arab world to compete and showcase their talents.

This achievement highlights the UAE’s commitment to promoting excellence in sports, particularly for women, and further solidifies its position as a leader in the region’s sailing community.
