‘Toast The Host’: US Team Sponsors Amul’s Post For T20 World Cup Debut

The United States of America (USA) cricket team is set to make history by debuting in the T20 World Cup this year. They have secured direct entry into the prestigious tournament as co-hosts with the West Indies. The USA will kick off their T20 World Cup journey on June 2, facing Canada in the opening match at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Texas.

In anticipation of their historic debut, Indian dairy giant Amul has announced a partnership with the USA cricket team. Through this collaboration, Amul aims to promote its diverse range of dairy products in the American market and gain global recognition.

The Gujarat-based dairy firm announced the partnership in a creative Instagram post. Amul’s famous topical featured an animated illustration of the “Amul girl” offering bread and butter to a cricketer in a USA jersey, set against a backdrop of a cricket stadium filled with spectators waving the American flag. The post included the text, “Toast the Host. Official Partner of the USA Men’s National Cricket Team,” and the caption expressed pride in sponsoring the team.

Fans lauded Amul for its innovative announcement. One user commented, “Respect for AMUL,” while another noted, “The target audience shouldn’t belong to the US for this ad.” A cricket enthusiast called it a “proud moment” for India.

Venu Pisike, Chairman of USA Cricket, expressed excitement about the partnership, stating, “We are pleased to have Amul on board as the lead arm sponsor for the upcoming and eagerly awaited ICC Cricket T20 World Cup 2024. Amul’s extensive track record of sponsoring cricket teams underscores its commitment to nurturing talent, encouraging sportsmanship, and uniting communities globally. Collaborating with esteemed brands like Amul inspires us to strive for excellence both on and off the field.”

Amul’s association with cricket teams is well-established, having supported various international teams in past ICC events. They sponsored the Netherlands in the 2011 ODI World Cup hosted in India and Bangladesh. Besides the USA, Amul will also sponsor the South African team in this T20 World Cup.
