The young Indian batsman Tilak Varma keeps showing outstanding form during international cricket. This outstanding innings won him the Player of the Match trophy.

With 72 runs, Tilak reached a particular landmark in T20Is. At only 22 years of age, he is the first cricketer from a full member nation to bat over 300 times in T20Is without being out. His last four T20I innings saw him amassing 318 runs, including 107* and 120* off South Africa, 19, and 72* off England. Between two dismissals, his total of 318 runs is the highest ever in T20Is, topping the 271 runs previously held by Mark Chapman of New Zealand.
