One of the greatest batsman in the history of world cricket, Bharat Ratna Sachin Tendulkar will get honoured with a life-size statue at Wankhede stadium which will be unveiled during ICC World Cup 2023.
Celebrating Sachin’s Golden Jubilee year at the Wankhede stadium, on Tuesday, Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) president Amol Kale announced this news. It is going to be the first instance of a player’s stature being installed at Wandkhede stadium. It will be erected outside the MCA lounge on a circular platform.
Sachin has featured in 200 Tests, 463 ODIs, and 1 T20I for India scoring 34,357 runs across all formats. The Master Blaster holds the record for most international centuries with 100 hundreds to his name. He won the World Cup in 2011 at the final in Wankhede stadium .
