Understanding the Reserve Day

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has outlined clear guidelines on the utilization of the reserve day. If rain hampers the game on Saturday, play will resume on Sunday from the point it was interrupted. The ICC emphasizes that every effort will be made to complete the match on the scheduled day, including any necessary reduction in overs. Only if the minimum required overs to constitute a match cannot be bowled on the scheduled day will the match spill over into the reserve day.

For a match to be considered complete, a minimum of 10 overs must be bowled to the team batting second. Should the match start on Saturday but face interruptions that prevent its completion, it will pick up from where it left off on Sunday. The start time for the reserve day is set for 8:00 PM IST.

Super Over Regulations

In the event of a tie, the winner will be determined through a Super Over. If this also ends in a tie, additional Super Overs will be played until a winner emerges. These can continue indefinitely until a decisive result is achieved.
