Shubman Gill Kicks “Disciplinary Issue” Rumours Aside with His New Instagram Story With Rohit Sharma

Shubman Gill recently sparked excitement among fans with a heartwarming Instagram post featuring himself alongside Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and his daughter Samaira. The photo has garnered significant attention, particularly amidst rumors that Gill had unfollowed Rohit on Instagram, which led to speculation about their relationship. However, Gill’s latest post appears to affirm their strong bond, with Gill emphasizing the values of discipline learned from Rohit Sharma in his caption.

Speculation had also arisen regarding disciplinary issues as a possible reason for Gill’s departure from the India squad. Nevertheless, a report from the Times of India clarified that these rumours were unfounded. Gill’s Instagram update seems to dispel any doubts about his standing with the team.

Despite a slow start in IPL 2024 following his Orange Cap-winning performance in IPL 2023, Gill missed selection for India’s 15-man squad at the 2024 T20 World Cup. By the end of IPL 2024, he had accumulated 426 runs in 12 games.

Looking ahead, Team India has secured a place in the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup. Led by Rohit Sharma, India will compete against Australia, Afghanistan, and either Bangladesh or Netherlands in their Super 8 group. After playing all their group stage matches in the USA, the team will now return to the Caribbean for the remainder of the tournament.

As they prepare for their Super 8 campaign, India will aim for improved performances from key players like Virat Kohli, who has scored only five runs in three games so far, and Rohit Sharma, who has struggled after a promising start against Ireland. India’s Super 8 journey begins with a match against Afghanistan on June 20th.
