Shikhar Dhawan Sends Warm Wishes To Rohit Sharma And Ritika On Welcoming Their Second Child

Former India captain Shikhar Dhawan extended his heartfelt congratulations to his longtime opening partner, Rohit Sharma, and his wife, Ritika Sajdeh, on the arrival of their second child. Shikhar shared a post on Instagram, saying, “Congratulations Rohit Sharma bro and Ritika Sajdeh on the arrival of your little champion! Wishing you both all the blessings on this beautiful new journey ahead!”

Rohit announced the birth of his second child with a sweet Instagram post, referencing the popular TV show Friends, saying, “The FAMILY, the one where we are four.” He captioned the post with “15.11.2024,” marking the birth date of their newborn. Rohit and Ritika’s first child, Samaira, was born in 2018.

Due to the birth of his second child, Rohit stayed back and did not travel with the Indian team to Perth ahead of the Border-Gavaskar series opener. With the series starting in less than a week, it remains uncertain whether Rohit will participate in the opening Test against Australia.

In other news, KL Rahul and actress Athiya Shetty also shared exciting news about expecting their first child. The couple posted a message on Instagram, saying, “Our beautiful blessing is coming soon. 2025” along with baby feet emojis and a clip art of the evil eye.

Both Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul are part of India’s squad for the much-anticipated Border-Gavaskar series, which begins on November 22 in Perth. The series will continue with Tests in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney.

The full India squad for the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy includes: Rohit Sharma (C), Jasprit Bumrah (VC), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant (WK), Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel (WK), Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Siraj, Akash Deep, Prasidh Krishna, Harshit Rana, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar, with Mukesh Kumar, Navdeep Saini, and Khaleel Ahmed as travelling reserves.

Australia’s squad for the series opener includes: Pat Cummins (C), Scott Boland, Alex Carey, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Mitch Marsh, Nathan McSweeney, Steve Smith, and Mitchell Starc.
