Salt on ENG’s 75-run victory over WI: “The boys have come out and done well”

Philip Salt, the England opener, complimented his colleagues and stated that the squad has performed well in the current series.

In the fourth Twenty20 International match of the series, England defeated the West Indies by a score of 75 runs on Wednesday at Brian Lara Stadium.

During the post-game press conference, the 27-year-old expressed his admiration for the Caribbean bowling attack and mentioned that they had performed admirably after a few overs in the opening inning.

As the ball grew older, the batter-wicketkeeper commented that the match was equal. He went on to say that the English openers intended to apply as much pressure as possible on their opponents throughout the match.

“I am definitely enjoying it. It is a cool place to come and play cricket. The boys have come out and done well. Very satisfying. The tweaks that I have made to my game have been on the mental side. It is a habit to score tons. I think after the first few overs, they bowled well. It evened out after the ball got older. Me and Jos realized that we could put them under pressure. They are a very good side. You never know what Dre Russ can do,” Salt said.

West Indies chose to field first at Brian Lara Stadium after winning the toss. Rovman Powell’s choice, meanwhile, did not help them because the Caribbean bowling attack played a disorganized game.

For the visitors, Salt (119 runs from 57 balls) started with a scorching knock that included seven fours and ten sixes. England was reduced to 267/3 thanks to a pivotal combination between captain Jos Buttler (55 runs from 29 balls) and Salt.

The only people taking wickets were Andre Russell, Jason Holder, and Akeal Hosein.
