Indian cyclist Ronaldo Laitonjam went down to Australia’s Matthew Glaetzer to exit the men’s sprint event in the pre-quarterfinals at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games here on Sunday.
The 20-year-old Indian clocking 10.011s over the 200m distance to see his hopes dash in the multi-discipline event.
Laitonjam who had won the silver medal in the sprint event of the senior category at the Asian Track Championship in New Delhi in June finished 13th in the qualifying round.
His teammates David Beckham (10.120) and Esow Alben (10.361) had finished 18th and 23rd in the qualifying round.
