BCCI secretary Jay Shah has stated that Rohit Sharma would lead India in the 2025 Champions Trophy and World Test Championship (WTC) finals, should the team qualifies. “I am confident that under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, we will win the WTC Final and Champions Trophy,” Shah stated in a video congratulating the Men in Blue on their 2024 T20 World Cup triumph.
Rohit Sharma recently guided India’s cricket team to win in the T20 World Cup in the West Indies, ending an 11-year drought for an International Cricket Council trophy.
The 2025 Champions Trophy will be held in Pakistan in February, while the World Test Championship final will be held next June at Lord’s in London.
India now leads the WTC table with six victories from nine matches and 68.52 percent of points won.
