The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has allegedly come to a consensus with the International Cricket Council (ICC) and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for the 2025 Champions Trophy to be conducted under a hybrid model. As reported by India Today, Pakistan is set to host 10 matches, whereas all of India’s fixtures, including their match against Pakistan, will take place in Dubai.
Should India be knocked out after the league stage, the knockout matches will then be relocated to venues in Lahore and Rawalpindi. Moreover, the BCCI and PCB have tentatively agreed that Pakistan will not travel to India for their matches during the 2026 T20 World Cup, with Pakistan’s matches likely being held in Sri Lanka, one of the co-hosting nations.
The report further indicated that the PCB will not receive any financial remuneration for losing the opportunity to host all the Champions Trophy matches. However, Pakistan is anticipated to host an ICC Women’s tournament post-2027. The PCB had originally suggested that its games be played in Colombo, although the locations for the semi-finals and final are yet to be finalized.

The tournament, scheduled to take place from February 19 to March 9, will include eight teams split into two groups, with the top two progressing to the semi-finals. This hybrid format resembles the 2023 ACC Men’s Asia Cup, in which Pakistan and India conducted their matches in separate nations.
Pakistan enters the tournament as the reigning champions, having defeated India in 2017 with a commanding 180-run win. At the same time, India and Australia continue to be the most victorious teams in Champions Trophy history, each having won two titles.
