“Na Na Kar Ke Bhi 10 IPL…”: Shah Rukh Khan’s Comments On MS Dhoni Go Viral, Captivate Fans Everywhere!

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issued the retention rules for IPL 2025 yesterday afternoon, therefore enabling all the different teams to retain a maximum of six players ahead of the auction. It is from among the many things in the retention guidelines that the uncapped player category seemed to attract the most interested of the interested team – Chennai Super Kings. Under the rules, any Indian player who has not played an international match in the past five years qualifies as an ‘uncapped player,’ a category that includes former captain MS Dhoni. As such, the seasoned wicketkeeper-batter can be retained by CSK only at ₹4 crore. Amid discussions on Dhoni’s IPL future, a comment from Kolkata Knight Riders owner Shah Rukh Khan has gone viral.

Karan Johar teased Bollywood legend Shah Rukh Khan about retirement in a lighter vein recently at an awards ceremony. SRK gave one of his witty responses, saying that he and Dhoni are the same sort of legends, humorously referring to how Dhoni had declared his retirement yet went on to play for ten more years.

Shah Rukh Khan said, “The biggest thing about legends… unki khasiyat ye hoti hai ki legends ko maalum hota hai, when to stop, when to retire. Like the great Sachin Tendulkar, like Sunil Chhetri—the footballer, like Roger Federer—the great tennis star. They all know when to retire and I think it’s time you did too. So please go back. Thank you very much,” he told Karan Johar.

To this, Karan Johar quipped, “By that yardstick, and by the same calibre, why dont you retire?”

SRK responded promptly, “Actually I am one of those in a different league, I am with Dhoni, of course, one of those legends. Na na to 10 times can play IPL, though this one got the audience into great titters.”.
