Musheer Khan Speaks Out Following Car Accident: “My Father Is Also Fine”

Young all-rounder Musheer Khan, who recently survived a serious car accident on his way to join the Mumbai team for the Irani Cup, expressed heartfelt gratitude to those who prayed for his recovery in his first public statement. Musheer, a right-handed batter and left-arm spinner, suffered a neck fracture when the car he was traveling in with his father, Naushad Khan, hit a divider and flipped multiple times.

In a video shared on Instagram, Musheer, who is currently wearing a neck bandage, stated, “First of all, I would like to thank Allah for this new life. I am fine now. My father was with me; he is also fine now. I would like to thank you all for your prayers.”

The injury will sideline Musheer for several months, preventing him from participating in the Irani Cup and initial Ranji Trophy matches. He is expected to be taken to a hospital in Mumbai for further assessment after being discharged from Medanta Hospital in Lucknow.

Musheer’s accident comes as a significant setback, especially since he was set to join the India A tour of Australia later this year after scoring an impressive 181 runs for India B in the Duleep Trophy. His father, Naushad, added in the same video, “I would also like to thank the MCA and BCCI, who are taking very good care. They will provide updates on the future. We should be patient about what we haven’t received and be thankful for what we have, and that is life.”

The Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) has yet to announce a replacement for Musheer in the Irani Cup squad, which is led by veteran Test batter Ajinkya Rahane.
