Manu Bhaker Shares ‘I Tell Myself To Breathe’ Anger Management Technique

Indian sports sensation Manu Bhaker, a double Olympic bronze medalist, continues to shine not only for her accomplishments in shooting but also as a youth icon, inspiring millions with her grounded personality. In a recent interview with News18, the 22-year-old opened up about her approach to anger management, offering relatable advice to her fans and followers.

Open Discussion on Anger Management

When asked if she ever feels angry, Bhaker candidly admitted, “Yes, I do feel angry.” What stood out was her honest response about how she manages those emotions. “I prefer punching,” she said with a smile, suggesting that physical activity helps her release pent-up frustration. This small yet effective coping mechanism resonates with many young people facing similar emotional challenges.

Bhaker also shared a simple but powerful strategy for situations where physical activity isn’t possible: focusing on her breathing. “I tell myself to breathe,” she explained, adding that concentrating on her breath helps her calm down. After a few moments, she feels much more composed, demonstrating how basic mindfulness techniques can be instrumental in managing strong emotions.

Making India Proud

Manu Bhaker is no stranger to accolades. At the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, she made history by winning two bronze medals, including one in the prestigious women’s 10-meter air pistol event. This achievement marked her as the first Indian female shooter to win an Olympic medal, a testament to her dedication and skill. Her continued success has not only brought pride to India but has also positioned her as a role model for aspiring athletes.

Inspiring a Generation

While Bhaker’s accolades in sports are remarkable, her transparency about personal challenges like anger management makes her even more relatable. By openly sharing how she copes with stress and frustration, Bhaker is sending an important message to young people: even champions struggle with emotions, but it’s how you manage them that counts.

Her journey—marked by discipline, resilience, and a calm mindset—continues to inspire a generation of young Indians, both on and off the shooting range.
