Manchester City’s Champions-4-In-A-Row Trophy Tour Wraps Up In Delhi

Manchester City have concluded their whirlwind visit to Delhi, where they engaged with the community and held various events across the capital. Fans had the opportunity to meet Manchester City legend Shaun Wright-Phillips and get up close to the Premier League, FIFA Club World Cup, and FA Community Shield trophies.

As part of the “Champions 4-in-a-Row Trophy Tour,” the club organized a coaching day in Delhi. This event brought together local coaches and volunteers, providing them with a platform to experience Manchester City’s community coaching methods. Through workshops and football drills, participants learned about the importance of adaptability and other key factors when conducting community sessions.

Additionally, Shaun Wright-Phillips visited the Sultanpuri community, where Manchester City and Etihad Airways have partnered with the Magic Bus India Foundation to launch the “Healthy Heroes” project. This initiative aims to use the power of sports to help adolescents from underprivileged backgrounds develop essential life skills, supporting them in completing their education and pursuing future aspirations.

The visit concluded with a special gathering of Official Supporters Club (OSC) members from various chapters across India. Fans had the chance to take photos with the trophies, experience the new boot room, and participate in football drills with Manchester City coaches. The day ended with fans watching Manchester City’s match against Arsenal, which ended in an exciting 2-2 draw, at the Vegas Mall Atrium.

Reflecting on his time in India, Shaun Wright-Phillips shared, “This is my third time in India, but my first in Delhi. The experience was great. The fans here are incredibly passionate about football, and I’m glad I got an opportunity to connect with the people of Delhi. Thank you to our fans in India for your continued support!”

Following a successful visit to New Delhi from September 20th to 22nd, the “Champions 4-in-a-Row” Trophy Tour, featuring the Premier League, Club World Cup, and Community Shield trophies, will now head to Kolkata. This leg of the tour coincides with the launch of the first-ever Manchester City Football School in West Bengal.
