Fans will cherish their memories of Coldplay’s final concert on their India tour. The audience was not only treated to a stunning performance by the legendary band, but they also caught a peek of Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah seated in the crowded stadium.
On Tuesday, Bumrah uploaded a video of his trip, showing the memorable moments he enjoyed with his family at the event. “This was an experience of a lifetime. Thank you for all the love @coldplay and congratulations on the super successful shows in India. We’ll see you soon,” he captioned the post. In the video Bumrah is seen smiling alongside his wife and mother and interacting with the band backstage.
Coldplay Salutes Bumrah
On 26 January, Bumrah had a moment of pride as Coldplay performed a song dedicated to him in their concert. The frontman Chris Martin declared, “O Jasprit Bumrah, my beautiful brother. The best bowler in the whole of cricket. We did not enjoy watching you destroy England, wicket after wicket.”
Martin also played a clip of Bumrah’s incredible bowling performance, showcasing his sheer pace and class. Adding to the tribute, Coldplay displayed Bumrah’s signed Test jersey on stage, further exciting the crowd.
PM Modi Highlights India’s Concert Economy
The prime minister also attended the Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025 on Tuesday, when he said India’s concert economy has much potential that is rising. While citing the success of Coldplay’s concerts recently in Mumbai and Ahmedabad, the prime minister stated that such potential exists in this sector.
“In a country with such a rich heritage in music, dance, and storytelling, with such a large pool of youth and a massive consumer base for concerts, there are vast opportunities for the concert economy. In the past decade, both the trend and demand for live events have grown. You must have seen the incredible images from the Coldplay concerts in Mumbai and Ahmedabad in recent days. This is proof of how much scope live concerts have in India,” said PM Modi.
He emphasized that with a very lively cultural scenario and a large number of youth and the growing demand for live performances, the country has great potential to become an attractive destination for global concerts. Coldplay’s sold-out shows are setting the benchmark for further growth in the concert industry of India.
