Indian stand-in skipper Shikhar Dhawan the ODI series against New Zealand would be an excellent exposure for the young players.

Meanwhile, the ODI series is starting on 25 November and team India will play three-match ODI series against the Blackcaps.

Moreover, from 18 November to 30 November the series will hold between the two teams, and in January 2023, New Zealand will return to India for the white-ball series.

During the pre-match conference, Shikhar Dhawan said, “To play good cricket and win this series, that’s what we are looking for. “This preparation is all about the upcoming World Cup. The players are forming really well. It’s good to see that they are doing well and we have a really good idea…. who will get a chance to claim a spot in the World Cup squad,” Dhawan added.

Talking about the role of the captaincy Dhawan said, “I am really fortunate to get the captaincy of the Indian team. It is very nice to have this challenging opportunity. We have won a good series too. I was not hurt when the captaincy was taken back from me. I don’t feel bad if something didn’t go the way we wanted.”
