IPL 2024 Prize Money: How Much Do The Winners And The Runners-Up Get?

The IPL 2024 final is all set to witness a showdown between the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on May 26. Following an intense league stage, where KKR and SRH emerged as the top two teams, the final promises to be a thrilling encounter.

KKR secured their spot in the final after a dominant performance against SRH in Qualifier 1. On the other hand, SRH booked their place in the summit clash by defeating the Rajasthan Royals in Qualifier 2, setting up a highly anticipated rematch with KKR.

As the excitement builds for the final, one of the key questions on everyone’s mind is the prize money up for grabs. Over the years, the IPL has evolved into one of the most lucrative sporting events globally, with substantial rewards for the winners and top performers.

For the IPL 2024, the BCCI has allocated a total purse of 46.5 crores, which will be distributed among various categories, including the winners, runners-up, Orange Cap and Purple Cap winners, among others. The champions of the IPL 2024 will take home a hefty sum of 20 crores, while the runners-up will receive 13 crores.

Individual performers will also be rewarded, with the Orange Cap and Purple Cap winners, Virat Kohli and Harshal Patel respectively, set to pocket 15 lakh each. Additionally, the ‘Emerging Player Of The Year’ will be awarded 20 lakh, while the ‘Most Valuable Player’ of the season will receive 12 lakh.
