A partnership of a hundred runs between Quinton de Kock and captain KL Rahul led the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to an eight-wicket victory against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Friday.
During their chase of 177 runs, LSG’s openers, Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul, provided a solid start. Captain KL Rahul was the aggressor, particularly targeting the pace trio of Deepak Chahar, Mustafizur Rahman, and Tushar Deshpande with his fluent shotmaking in this IPL season. KL reached his 50 off 31 balls, comprising five fours and three sixes.
The partnership between De Kock and KL ended at 134 runs, with De Kock dismissed for 54 off 43 balls. LSG finished their innings at 180/2 in 19 overs, with Nicholas Pooran and Marcus Stoinis remaining unbeaten.
Earlier, a partnership of 51 runs between Ravindra Jadeja and Moeen Ali, along with MS Dhoni’s late cameo, propelled CSK to a total of 176/6. Despite LSG’s early breakthroughs, CSK managed to post a competitive total, thanks to contributions from various players, including Jadeja’s 57 runs and Dhoni’s unbeaten 28 runs.
