IPL 2024 Final: “You guys redefined T20 cricket”, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Kavya Maran Praises Team

Sunrisers Hyderabad co-owner and CEO Kavya Maran expressed her pride and emotion on Sunday, celebrating the team’s remarkable journey in IPL 2024 despite their defeat in the final. Maran highlighted the players’ innovative approach to T20 cricket, which led them to the summit clash.

Kolkata Knight Riders secured their third IPL title by defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets in the final held in Chennai. Despite SRH posting the lowest-ever total in an IPL final, a modest 113 runs, their aggressive batting throughout the season broke numerous records and earned widespread acclaim.

After the match, Kavya Maran applauded her team in an emotional dressing room speech, recognizing their efforts and achievements.

Mitchell Starc’s exceptional bowling spell was pivotal in KKR’s victory. The Australian left-arm pacer claimed 2 for 14, reinforcing his reputation in the world’s most lucrative T20 league. Starc, who was acquired by Kolkata for a record USD 2.98 million in the December auction, concluded the IPL with impressive performances, including a crucial 3 for 34 in the first playoff against the same opponent.

In the final, Kolkata’s batting lineup faced little resistance. Despite losing Sunil Narine early, Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 39, and Venkatesh Iyer remained unbeaten on 52, leading their team to victory with 9.3 overs to spare after a significant 91-run partnership.
