In the first IPL match of the season, Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and chose to bat first against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
The defending champion Gujarat Titans will begin their title defence against the four-time champion Chennai Super Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium. While Pandya will look to replicate his performance from last year, CSK captain MS Dhoni will look to reclaim the team’s former glory in the tournament.
Hardik Pandya, the GT captain, stated that it is always a pleasure to play in Ahmedabad.
“We’ll start with bowling. It’s always a pleasure to play here. New beginnings, new seasons, all very exciting. He has inspired almost everyone in the country (Dhoni). I’ve always been a fan and admirer of his. I want the boys to enjoy it. The outcome will take care of itself. It’s different now because I’ve left it in the coach. Ashu pa (Ashish Nehra) works all night on the tasks that must be completed. I’m not sure (today’s combination).”
