India’s Sri Lanka Tour 2024: Full Schedule Revealed For Gautam Gambhir’s Debut As Head Coach

Gautam Gambhir will begin his tenure as the head coach of the Indian cricket team later this month during their upcoming tour of Sri Lanka. The team is scheduled to play both T20I and ODI series as part of their white-ball tour.

The Sri Lankan Cricket Board (SLC) on Thursday, July 11, announced the schedule for the series, confirming dates and venues. India will begin with three T20Is starting from July 26 at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy, followed by three ODIs starting from August 1 at the iconic R Premedasa Stadium in Colombo. This marks India’s first bilateral series against Sri Lanka since 2021.

2nd T20I – July 27, 7 PM IST, Pallekele

1st T20I – July 29, 7 PM IST, Pallekele

1st ODI – August 1, 2:30 PM IST, Colombo

2nd ODI- August 4, 2:30 PM IST, Colombo

3rd ODI – August 7, 2:30 PM IST, Colombo

Telecast and Streaming 

The series will be broadcasted on television in India by Sony Sports Network and streamed live on the Sonyliv app and website.

India’s Tour Of Sri Lanka Full Squad

Both India and Sri Lanka have not yet announced their squads for the upcoming series. India is expected to reveal their squad next week, following the conclusion of the ongoing series against Zimbabwe. This will mark the first instance of the Men in Blue assembling a full-strength T20I team since their T20 World Cup victory and the retirements of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja. The appointment of a new T20I captain is anticipated. In the ODI series, India is likely to rest several senior players.
