Kerala Blasters FC played to a 0-0 draw against NorthEast United FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi on Saturday in the Indian Super League 2024-25. Despite playing with 10 men for over 60 minutes, Kerala’s defense stood strong, securing a valuable point.
Initially, NorthEast United FC’s Jithin MS came close to scoring in the 12th minute. He connected with a corner from Mohammed Bemammer, but his shot went wide. Similarly, Kerala’s Noah Sadaoui had a chance just three minutes later. He tried his luck from outside the box, but his shot missed the target. Shortly after, Kerala made an offensive move, but Sadaoui was flagged offside.
Red Card Changes the Game
However, the match took a decisive turn in the 30th minute when Kerala Blasters FC’s Aibanbha Dohling was sent off for violent conduct. This left Kerala with 10 men, offering NorthEast United FC a one-man advantage. Despite the setback, Kerala’s defense held firm.
Before halftime, Alaaeddine Ajaraie received a pass from Macarton Nickson and unleashed a shot, but Kerala’s defense blocked it. A few moments later, Ajaraie fired again from inside the box, but Kerala goalkeeper Sachin Suresh made a crucial save in the top left corner.
Second Half Play
In the second half, Kerala Blasters FC came out strong. They created a solid offensive play, with Noah Sadaoui and Milos Drincic testing NorthEast’s defense. Sadaoui’s shot from distance was saved by goalkeeper Gurmeet Singh.
NorthEast United FC responded with a combination between Guillermo Fernandez and Buanthanglun Samte. Samte’s shot from the left side missed the target. Following this, Nestor Albiach set up Ajaraie in the 68th minute, but Ajaraie’s shot sailed high over the net.
Late Opportunities
Later, in the 82nd minute, Fernandez had a golden opportunity to score from inside the box, but Kerala’s defense blocked his effort. Despite NorthEast’s increased pressure, Kerala’s defense remained resolute, ensuring the match ended in a draw.

Milos Drincic was a standout in defense. He completed 29 out of 35 passes, made one tackle, and cleared the ball nine times, effectively marshaling the Kerala Blasters FC defense.
