INDIAN PLAYERS’ MINDSET CHANGED DRASTICALLY AFTER 2020-21 SERIES WIN IN AUSTRALIA, SAYS INZAMAM

Indian players’ mindset has changed “drastically” after their series win in Australia earlier this year, said former Pakistan captain Inzama-Ul-Haq. Inzamam said that India’s younger players have regularly stepped up whenever the seniors failed ever since their 3-1 win over Australia, which included a win at the Gabba where the hosts had not lost a Test in over three decades.

“Since that series, the mindset of the players has changed drastically. Now, if the big players don’t score runs, it does not have a significant impact on the end result, as the youngsters are stepping up and playing wonderful knocks to help the team. I personally want to see Rishabh Pant’s batting in the series,” explained Inzamam on his Youtube channel.

“The way he plays the game, he unfortunately got out quickly in the first innings, but he was trying to play his natural game even in the tough conditions,” said Inzamam.

The final day of the first Test between India and England at Trent Bridge. India were chasing a target of 209 runs on the final day and were on 52/1 when play was called off.
