Gongadi Trisha made history on January 28, 2025, as the first batter to score a century in the U19 Women’s T20 World Cup. This 19-year-old accomplished the feat while playing for India in the Super Sixes versus Scotland in Kuala Lumpur’s Bayuemas Oval.
Trisha’s Century Shines
Gongadi Trisha added a single off Maisie Maceira on the last ball of the 18th over to seal her historic milestone. Her innings of 110 runs off 59 balls with an inclusion of 13 fours and four sixes helped India reach the score of 208 for one. Teammates, including skipper Niki Prasad and Mithila Vinod, stood admiringly, clapping at her achievement with a standing ovation from the dugout.

After India won by a huge margin of 150 runs, the match officials declared Trisha the Player of the Match, outshining left-arm spinner Aayushi Shukla, who had earlier destroyed Scotland’s batting lineup by taking four wickets for just 8 runs.
Emotional Celebration with her Father
Trisha was overjoyed as she approached her father, who was standing near the boundary hoardings while watching the match. The pleased father and daughter exchanged strong handshakes and hugged. Trisha’s father returned her Athlete of the Match medal, making the moment even more precious for the little athlete.
