Mohammad Shami has been sidelined since the 2023 World Cup due to ankle surgery. Recently, he provided an update on his recovery, expressing his determination to make a comeback while also being cautious to avoid risking further injury.

Shami is making significant strides in his rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru. He announced his recovery plans ahead of India’s second leg of the World Test Championship (WTC) matches, emphasizing that he won’t take any chances until he is completely fit.

Reports suggest that Shami is expected to participate in some domestic cricket during the Ranji Trophy for Bengal before returning to the Indian team.
