With two-time defending champions Pakistan taking on New Zealand in the opening match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Karachi, the highly anticipated tournament will start on Wednesday, February 19.
The high-profile ICC event ranked second only to the Cricket World Cup in ODI format. The tournament will be held from March 9 and is Pakistan’s return as an international cricket tournament host after almost three decades.
India’s Matches to be Played in UAE
Though Pakistan is the host, Team India, under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, will play all their matches in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) because of long-standing political differences between the two countries.
After negotiations that went on for months, the International Cricket Council (ICC) in December announced that India’s matches would be held in Dubai
