Celta Vigo defeats Barcelona, Valladolid relegated

Real Valladolid suffered relegation from LaLiga on the last day of the season on Sunday, while Barcelona, who clinched the title, concluded their campaign with a 2-1 loss against struggling Celta Vigo.
As the final weekend approached, six teams were filled with apprehension, desperately hoping to avoid demotion. Five of them were able to breathe a collective sigh of relief when Real Valladolid, owned by Ronaldo, managed a goalless draw at home against Getafe, resulting in their 18th-place finish and marking the end of their one-season stint in LaLiga.
At the Balaidos stadium in Vigo, the home team Celta, who were fighting to avoid relegation, gained the lead in the 42nd minute. Gabri Veiga showcased his speed as he skillfully evaded defenders Marcos Alonso and Andreas Christensen, finding the bottom corner of the net with his precise finish.
Driven by their determination to secure their safety, Celta seized control of the match. They relentlessly launched a series of attacks on Barcelona’s defense, and Veiga struck again in the 65th minute, benefitting from a fortuitous cross that found its way into the net.
Barcelona made several substitutions in the second half, one of which resulted in Ansu Fati scoring in the 79th minute. However, Celta managed to hold on to their lead and emerged victorious, finishing the season in 13th place. “I think we have had a great season, but we are aware that we need to strengthen because that is the demand at Barcelona, above all in Europe,” Barca coach Xavi Hernandez said after the match. “We have to be competitive. We need two players per position.
