Bengaluru Badshahs Secure 5th Title of Deaf Indian Premier League Championship

Bengaluru Badshahs Clinch 5th Deaf Indian Premier League Championship Title” “Sports figures serve as ambassadors of peace, unity, and progress. Observing athletes with special abilities competing on the field evokes a sense of joy,” remarked Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Sachin Kumar Vaishya (IAS), at the Conclusion Ceremony of the 5th Deaf Indian Premier League, hosted by the Indian Deaf Cricket Association (IDCA) at Maulana Azad Stadium, Jammu.

Sachin Kumar graced the event as the chief guest, accompanied by Sher Singh, ADDC Jammu, and Ranjeet Kalra, a distinguished sports administrator and member of the J&K Sports Council, who served as guests of honor. Rajesh Dhar, Media Manager of JKCA; Baljinder Singh, Chief Sports Officer of JKSC; Suraj Bhan Singh, Judo Coach; and Pawandeep Kaur, Athletics Coach, were also present as special guests. Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Jammu expressed, “Each individual aspires to contribute to society in their own capacity. While administrative duties may seem routine, the performance of specially-abled athletes presents a formidable challenge.”

Specially-abled individuals are the true champions of our society. They deserve our utmost respect and admiration,” remarked Sachin Kumar. Earlier, Ranjeet Kalra extended a warm welcome to the chief guest and commended the organizers and sponsors for orchestrating the event with utmost excellence. Deaf Bengaluru Badshahs and Deaf Hyderabad Eagles emerged as co-champions of the tournament. However, Bengaluru Badshahs clinched the title through a coin toss.

Sudershan from Deaf Hyderabad Eagles was honored as the player of the final match and also received the Best Bowler award, while Virender Singh from Bengaluru Badshahs and Umar Ashraf Beigh from Hyderabad Eagles were recognized as the Best Wicketkeeper/Fielder of the League. Suhail Ahmed from Hyderabad Eagles, Deepak Kumar from Punjab Warriors, and Sai Naresh from Chennai Blasters received accolades for Most Sixes, Most Wickets in a Match, and Fastest Fifty, respectively.

The chief guest, Sh Sachin Kumar, and the guest of honor, Ranjeet Kalra, alongside special guests, distributed trophies, cash prizes, and individual medals among the players of both the winning and runner-up teams. A cash award of Rs 300,000 (Three lakh) was conferred upon both the Bengaluru Badshahs and Hyderabad Eagles. The league was conducted under the supervision of Sumit Jain, President of IDCA, with Mirza Momin Beigh serving as the event coordinator and Peerzada Shahid as the translator.

Expressing his gratitude during the vote of thanks, Sumit Jain extended appreciation to Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor Sh Manoj Sinha, the University of Jammu, and the J&K Sports Council for their generous support and cooperation in organizing the cricket league. He also acknowledged Deepak Gupta, President of the Traders Federation Warehouse, for sponsoring refreshments for all players on each of the four match days.
