Asian Para Games: Raman Sharma’s record-breaking run gives India another gold

In the men’s 1500m-T38 final of the ongoing 4th Asian Para Games on Friday, Raman Sharma stole the show with a run that broke both the Asian Record and his own record. Raman clocking in at 4:20.80s.

Timor-Leste’s Teofilo Freitas clinched the silver medal with a timing of 4:21.75s while Japan’s Takafumi Igusa settled for silver in the 4:29.42s.
The flurry of medals in athletics continued as Pradeep Kumar and Laxit dominated the podium in the men’s Javelin Throw F-54 event on Friday.
Pradeep added a silver in India’s constantly rising medal tally with his personal best throw of 25.94m. Laxit also clinched a bronze by producing his personal best attempt of 21.20m.

Erfan Bondori Deraznoei of Iran won the gold medal with a spectacular throw of 28.28 meters, shattering the Asian Para Games record. Lakshmi, meanwhile, won bronze in the women’s F37/38 Discus Throw final with a personal best throw of 22.55 meters. China’s Na Mi and Yingli Li, who won gold and silver, respectively, dominated the podium positions. With an incredible throw of 38.73 meters, Na Mi broke the event record. While Yingli settled for a silver medal with a season-best throw of 37.04 meters. Sheetal Devi had earlier made a spectacular start to the day by winning the highly sought-after gold medal in the women’s compound open event.
