South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol has been impeached by the National Assembly over his brief attempt to impose martial law.
On Saturday, the South Korean parliament voted in favor of the impeachment motion, with 204 lawmakers supporting it, leading to Yoon’s suspension from office amid a political crisis. This vote came as tens of thousands of protesters gathered outside the parliament building in Seoul, waving banners and chanting for Yoon’s removal.
