The Canadian parliament paid tribute to khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar by observing a minute of silence on Tuesday.

The parliament marked the one-year anniversary of Khalistani Separatist’s death.

This development comes around the time, when just last week, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Justin Trudeau interacted on the sidelines of G-7 summit. Later in his interview with CBC News Ottawa, he declared, that he ‘sees’ an opportunity in engaging with India.

Earlier, canada had detained four Indians in connection with the murder of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

While India on the other hand, has always emphasized, that there has been no formal or diplomatic communication from Canada concerning the assassination of the Sikh separatist or the detention of the four individuals involved.

But this month, Canadian PM Justin Trudeau had congratulated PM Modi on his re-election, saying, ‘Congratulations to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on his electoral victory. Canada stands ready to work with his government to advance the relationship between our nations’ peoples—anchored to human rights, diversity, and the rule of law.’

Responding to this congratulatory message, PM Modi said, ‘India looks forward to working with Canada based on mutual understanding and respect for each other’s concerns.’

Brief On the Killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar 

In the previous year of June 2023, The NIA designated Khalistani Terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar was fatally shot outside a Gurdwara in Surrey at British Columbia.

Thus, resulting in increased tensions between India and Canada, when Trudeau after G20 conclusion, alleged ‘potential’ hand of Indian agents in Nijjar’s murder.

Later, reacting to Trudeau allegations, India called these allegations as ‘absurd & motivated’
