Taking to social media, the Riverside County sheriff’s office recently revealed an incident, where a man called 911 and informed, that his girlfriend was weak and dehydrated on Sunday
But it was discovered that the couple had been stuck in the middle of the desert, while they were hiking in south of Joshua Tree National Park located in Southern California.
As per the viral images, man was shown using his body to shield his girlfriend from scorching sun and wind, and later one by one, the helicopter then hoisted the couple.
Later, the couple were transferred to landing zone, where an aeromedical helicopter quickly took the woman to a hospital, ‘due to her severe condition.’ And the man was taken to local hospital via ambulance.
Issuing the warning, the sheriff department cautioned, that southern California’s deserts are one of the hottest areas. As per National weather service, painted canyons witness the temperature between the range of 37.8 to 40.6 degree celsius. Thus, warning the people, to remain hydrated.
‘Please remember as the temps increase, take more water than you think you will need, have a hiking plan, and tell two people where you are going.’ said Sheriff’s Department.
The Maha Kumbh, which began on January 13, will continue until February 26.
