Reacting to the recent demolition of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) central secretariat portion in Islamabad yesterday,
The party has declared that the government has “violated the sanctity of a political party’s office”.
Talking to media outside the office, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, claimed, that the capital development authority did not obtain any permit for the operation, neither they had sent notice during the last two years.
Later, the chairman also claimed, there were no illegal constructions in the premises.
“Even if there were encroachments, the CDA should have sent prior notice before the operation. said Gohar Ali Khan.
Taking to social media platform X, PTI Islamabad called out the office demolition, saying,
“Late-night armed invasion and vandalism of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf central office. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf strongly condemns the invasion of the biggest political party of the country by the mandate thief government in the dark of night. Reiterating our commitment not to bow down to intimidation, lawlessness and blind use of force and not to give up in any way from the agenda of true freedom…”
Meanwhile, PTI General secretary and opposition leader Omar Ayub, had earlier accused interior minister Mohsin Naqvi for the conspiracy of ‘illegal’ operation” at party’s office.
He also emphasized, that PTI is being unfairly targeted. The party will fight this battle through legal ways.
“We will summon Chairman CDA, IG Islamabad to the Privileges Committee of the National Assembly said Omar Ayub.
Meanwhile, the CDA officials revealed, that only illegal constructions of political party’s offices are being removed.
It has further revealed that the plot on which PTI office is constructed still under the radar, as this land was earlier allotted to an individual called Sartaj Ali.
So far, the CDA’s anti-encroachment team had demolished the portion of PTI’s office on Thursday.
As per the details, anti-encroachment team along with district administration has currently sealed PTI’s office.
