Meghan Markle’s Father Urges To Meet Grandkids Before His 80th Birthday

Thomas Markle, Meghan Markle’s estranged father, has made a sincere appeal with a hint of urgency, publicly, stating his wish to mend his relationship with his daughter. As he approaches his 80th birthday, he has reached out to the Duchess of Sussex, asking for the opportunity to meet his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet.

This recent attempt to reconnect comes amidst evident strain in the father-daughter relationship, highlighted by the Duchess’ revealing interview discussing her troubled familial ties.

Thomas spoke to Daily Mail expressing her desire to hear from his daughter “I’ve never been one for birthdays, but I know the one person I most want to hear from, Meghan, won’t be in touch.”

He added, “I would love to meet my grandchildren, but I would be happy with a photograph at this stage,” admitting “I never expected to make it to 80,” referring to his father who died at the age of 61.

Going further he added being aware that he wouldn’t meet Harry, nor he would hear from him and said, “I wish we could have worked this situation out. I was always ready and willing to do that.”

Meghan and her Father’s Strained Relationship

Once Meghan had said, “I mean, I’ve lost my father. I lost a baby. I nearly lost my name. I mean, there’s the loss of identity. But I’m still standing, and my hope for people in the takeaway from this is to know that there’s another side.”

Meghan’s last conversation with her father reportedly took place before her wedding, when he was hospitalized just days before the royal ceremony. He was initially invited to her wedding in 2018 but faced health issues and admitted to staging photos with a photographer for a paparazzi session. He chose not to attend the wedding to avoid embarrassing the royal family.

Their communication stopped after her father became embroiled in a paparazzi scandal. During the wedding, only Meghan’s mother attended from her family. In a subsequent interview with Oprah Winfrey, Meghan opened up about her strained relationship with her father, expressing ongoing sorrow over the situation.
