While efforts are being made to apprehend pro-Khalistan ‘Waris Punjab De’ chief Amritpal Singh, an alleged advisor and financier of the “fugitive” has been arrested, according to central agency sources.
According to sources, authorities have arrested Daljeet Singh Kalsi alias Sarabjeet Singh Kalsi, an alleged advisor and financier of Amritpal Singh. This news came in light after the Punjab Police launched a massive crackdown on the leader of the ‘Waris De Punjab’ on Saturday.
As per the authorities, police were deployed outside Amritpal Singh’s residence in Jallupur Khera village in Amritsar earlier today, and security was increased across the state because the Khalistani sympathizer outfit chief is currently on the run.
On Saturday late evening, Jalandhar Commissioner Kuldeep Singh Chahal, confirmed that the radical leader was declared as “fugitive.” In an exclusive interview with a leading news agency, the Jalandhar Commissioner stated, “Amritpal Singh, the leader of the ‘Waris Punjab De,’ has been declared a fugitive.
“His two cars were seized, and gunmen were apprehended. We also checked to see if his security escorts’ firearms were legally obtained. A case has been registered. Amritpal Singh is being sought by the Punjab Police, and we are hopeful that he will be apprehended soon. So far, 78 people have been arrested, and additional searches and raids are being conducted,” he further added.
