Sonia Gandhi has not campaigned for the Congress in the first phase of elections in Chhattisgarh and Mizoram, despite releasing a video message in support of the party. She has been distancing herself from active political campaigns, but has attended Parliament and I.N.D.I.A bloc meetings.
Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, along with Congress President Kharge, have been campaigning extensively in the poll-bound states. Kharge is focusing on Telangana, while Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are focusing on Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
All three are holding almost three rallies per day, as well as roadshows and small public meetings. Congress candidates and state leaders have requested more rallies to attract crowds, and the trio has been quite responsive to their needs.
Though the combination of Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and Kharge is working well within the Congress party, and there is a strong sense of teamwork, some Congress workers and leaders from poll-bound states have requested Sonia Gandhi to hold rallies in their states. It is up to her to decide whether to do so. The Daily Guardian Review has learned that Sonia Gandhi may hold public rallies in poll-bound states in the latter phase of the elections.
