Bollywood stars Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal have officially tied the knot! The couple, who have been in a committed relationship for several years, chose a low-key registered marriage for their special day. The civil ceremony took place on Sunday evening at Sonakshi’s cozy apartment in Bandra, Mumbai.
Sonakshi shared the joyous news on Instagram, posting a series of stunning photos from the ceremony. In her heartfelt caption, Sonakshi reflected on their journey together: “On this very day, seven years back (23.06.2017) in each other’s eyes, we saw love in its purest form and decided to hold on to it. Today that love has guided us through all the challenges and triumphs… leading up to this moment… where with the blessings of both our families and both our gods… we are now man and wife. The wedding was attended by a select group of family members and close friends. Among the attendees were Sonakshi’s co-star Aditi Rao Hydari and her fiancé, actor Siddharth. The pre-wedding celebrations kicked off on Saturday with traditional pujas at Sonakshi’s family home, Ramayan. Dressed in a blue kurta suit, Sonakshi participated in the rituals alongside her mother, Poonam Sinha.
The festivities included an indoor party for friends and family on June 20, followed by a mehendi ceremony on June 21. Sonakshi’s parents, Shatrughan Sinha and Poonam Sinha, were also present, putting to rest any rumors of disapproval. Shatrughan Sinha’s earlier comments had sparked speculation about his attendance, but he later confirmed his unwavering support and presence at the wedding. “I will be there at the wedding, certainly. Why shouldn’t I and why won’t I? Her happiness is my happiness and vice versa. She has every right to choose her partner and the other details of her wedding,” he told Zoom.
The newlyweds also hosted separate bachelor and bachelorette parties for their friends, ensuring that every aspect of their celebration was filled with joy and camaraderie.
