Goa Diaries: A Vintage, Serene Home Away From Home!

The party capital of the country is always bustling with lit cafes, crowd-studded beaches, golden sand, and the soothing sound of the waves crashing. While a majority of people come to Goa for the quintessential beach-hopping and to soak in the hippy vibe of the state, several others come to embark on an adventurous touristy expedition.
But this time around, we visited this picturesque land of sand and water for a peaceful retreat and we weren’t disappointed!

While there are several hotels, hostels, and BNBs available for travellers, we opted to stay in a private secluded villa and our little detox retreat was worth every penny. Our stay was at the Anjuna Beach Villa, situated just 100 metres away from the famous Anjuna Beach and right at the mouth of the Anjuna Flea Market. This amazing property owned by the Villagoa.in screamed all things rustic and vintage and gave just the right blend of portugal and european vibes!
This spacious property came with beautifully designed and aesthetically built 4 bedrooms—all with attached washrooms and aesthetica designed chiffoniers that were our favourite element in the room! Planned archaically, the villa had canopy beds and high ceilings with woodhaven planks which added to the vintage feel of the property. With well maintained electronics and air-conditioners in all rooms, the host Marina and caretaker Kamal left no stone unturned to assure us a homely luxurious stay!

And did we tell you that our villa came with a private pool?! Yes, we had a stunning lido (open-air swimming pool) surrounded with lush greenery and beautiful plants. The pool was squeaky clean and the sun loungers curated a perfect, romantic space for us to witness the sunset! Playing in the water while watching the sunset in pure silence and just the leaves wavering in the background was our favourite ‘it time!’
The villa also had a kitchen space with all the amenities that one may require to stir up their favourite delicacy. And the orange and beige themed dining room became our spot for savouring our morning and evening high-tea with the views of palm trees and the clouds!
All their rooms across this one-floored villa have been done by paying attention to the detail and we are impressed! Addition of little knick-knacks in every nook and corner make it a habitable and calming place and ensured us good night’s sleep! From vintage embossed frames, wall hangings, and Goan bedding to paintings, mirrors, and lamps—every element was so uniquely incorporated and displayed in the property!
As opposed to staying in a fancy resort oozing with people, staying in a villa became our intimate haven and saviour for this getaway! The villa has more than 30 villas across the state and is full of hospitable ambience. The staff was courteous and always at our disposal, washrooms clean, rooms comfortable and sans any bugs, location top notch, the property was majestic, and oh their gorgeous pool!
Be right back – we are going for another dip!
