In the trailer, Shetty draws clear parallels between the characters and the Ramayana. Ajay Devgn’s Bajirao Singham and Kareena Kapoor’s Avni Kamat are likened to Ram and Sita, while Tiger Shroff’s Satya represents Lakshman, Ranveer Singh’s Simmba takes on the role of Hanuman, Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi is cast as Jayatu, and Arjun Kapoor’s Danger Lanka embodies Ravan.
Social media reactions varied widely, with some users on X (formerly Twitter) asserting that “Rohit Shetty showed better #Ramayana than Om Raut in this 5 min trailer!” Another user commented, “Rohit Shetty could have made a better Adipurush than Om Raut.” Deepika Padukone’s role as Ahalya was also noted, with fans expressing excitement over her character’s portrayal.
Despite the enthusiasm, not all viewers were impressed. Critics expressed disappointment, with one stating, “If you want to watch a cop movie that is a loose modern-day adaptation of Ramayana, then don’t watch Singham Again. Instead, just sit at home and watch Mani Ratnam’s Raavanan.” Another user lamented, “Man I had huge hopes for Singham Again. But as per the trailer, it is a cringe fest, bad acting, mediocre VFX, and unnecessary Ramayana references.”
