As per Rules 6 to 12 of Sikh Gurudwara Board Election Rules, 1959 as a preliminary stage for initiating the election process after the expiry of the term of the existing members of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (Board) by the Chief Commissioner, Gurdwara Elections, Punjab, the voter registration program is being initiated from October 21, 2023, said Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Aashika Jain, here, today.
Divulging details, she added that during the preparation for the electoral rolls, one can file claims and objections from October 21 to November 15. For the smooth process of registering voters for the Gurdwara Board Elections, the Sub Divisional Magistrates of the respective areas where these Borad Constituencies fall, will be the Revising Authority Officers (RAO), said the deputy commissioner Aashika Jai. By adding that for the constituency 58-Derabassi SDM Derabassi will be the RAO and Tehsildar Derabassi and Naib Tehsildars of Zirakpur, Banur, and Rajpura to help him. Similarly, for 119-Kharar, Sub Divisional Magistrate Khatar will be the RAO besides Tehsildar Kharar and Naib Tehsildars of Majri and Gharuan to assist him. For 120-SAS Nagar, the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Mohali will be the RAO while the Tehsildar and Naib Tehsildar Mohali assist her.
She further said that under Revising Authority Officer-cum-Sub Divisional Magistrate Derabassi, Board Election Constituency 58-Derabassi will include the area of MC Derabassi, MC Banur and Kanungo Circle Derabassi (Barring Patwar Circle Bhawan of village Zirakpur falling in MC Zirakpur), Derabassi Tehsil, District SAS Nagar including Kanungo Circle, Samgauli and Lalru, Kanungo Circle Banur and Patwar Circle Tepla, Kheri Gurna, Nanhera of Kanungo Circle Jhansla, Tehsil Rajpura, District Patiala.
Similarly, Board Election Constituency 119-Kharar falling under the Revising Authority Officer-cum-Sub-Divisional Magistrate Kharar, includes Kharar Tehsil of District SAS Nagar (except Kanungo Circle Khizrabad and Majri), Patwar Circle Jhampur, Daun and Balongi, Kanungo Circle Ludhiana, Mohali Tehsil District SAS Nagar.
Board Constituency 120-SAS Nagar falling under Revising Authority Officer-cum-Sub Divisional Magistrate Mohali includes Mohali Tehsil (except areas of Patwar Circle Jhampur, Daun and Balongi and Kanungo Circle Landra of District SAS Nagar.
