CHANDIGARH: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee President Navjot Singh Sidhu on Monday again attacked his own party’s state government on the issues of sacrilege and drugs.

On sacrilege issue he said that on the High Court orders in April this year, a new SIT was formed in May to do fresh investigation and submit its report in 6 months, but on Monday, 6 months and one day passed, but there is no report. He said that the state government is not serious about it and has not yet filed a charge sheet in this case.

Regarding the sealed report filed in the court in the drug case, he said: “if this report had been made by us, then who stopped us from making it public? He said that the court has not even imposed any such injunction. Sidhu said that whenever the government does good work, he praised. Regarding power agreements, he said the companies have gone to court. Will the government go to court now? If the agreements not canceled, would the government be able to provide cheap electricity?”

Responding to a question pertaining to his role in making Charanjit Singh Channi as chief minister of the state, Sidhu said, “I have no hand in making Charanjit Singh Channi, Chief Minister. Channi has been made CM by the party high command.”
